It is the center of economy, culture and politics of the Fujian province. As the central city of a province with many ethnic and linguistic links to Taiwan, Fuzhou has benefited from cross-strait investment and is today a major commercial and manufacturing center

And every year with the unofficial figure, it shows that about 3 Billion USD remittances are being transferred to Fuzhou.
